About This Product
Vesugen® is a Khavinson Cytogen®: a synthetic short-peptide complex (AC-2) made from the amino acids lysine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid, modelled on peptides of the blood-vessel wall.
More About Vesugen
It is believed to support the normal function of blood vessels and healthy circulation. Vesugen is taken orally as capsules and is often chosen by adults who want to support cardiovascular wellness as they age.
Why Vesugen?
Blood vessels carry blood to every organ. Their inner lining helps control how widely they open, how smoothly blood flows and how nutrients pass into tissues. Flexible, well-functioning vessels are central to healthy circulation.
Areas of Scientific Interest
- Short synthetic peptides and vessel-wall cells in laboratory models
- Circulation and vascular tone
- How blood vessels change with age
These are areas of biological investigation, not guarantees of clinical benefit.
Research Background
Vesugen belongs to a family of short peptide bioregulators developed by researchers associated with Prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Researchers have investigated how short peptides from specific tissues may interact with the cells of that tissue and influence gene activity, mostly in cell and animal studies. Much of this work has been published in Russian-language literature, and we are not aware of published controlled human trials of Vesugen itself, so the research is best read as background rather than proof of effect.
